HISTORY OF HAITI:
The country of Haiti, and began calling in 1801, after Columbus discovered it on December 5, 1492. After the crew gets there in a small fort called Haiti, on the second voyage, Columbus discovered that the sailors have been killed by the islanders. The first people who occupied Haiti were from Florida or Yucatan, were hunters, fishers and gatherers.
When the first Europeans arrived in Haiti were met with the country divided into Chiefdoms of Quizqueya who refused to be with the Europeans.
CURRENT SITUATION:
In the current situation in Haiti is a terrible state after the earthquake. Neither the State of Haiti, not the international population after a year working together have accomplished nothing. Intermon Oxfam and other NGOs have been given to people drinking water food and shelter but still need more. People sleep on the street of small cottages next to other people but still it is not best for children. About a million people still live under plastic sheeting, have lost all their homes, their jobs ...
EARTHQUAKE DATA:
According to U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake of January 12, 2010 at 16:53:09 was 7'0 degrees, the largest in the world, beating the record of 5'9 degrees. Now Haiti is much poorer than it was because they have lost everything, there have been 150,000 dead. María Amorós
